I recently had very substantial damages to my home due to a hot water heater freezing and bursting in the attic. The total damage amounted to approximately $160,000. I interviewed and obtained quotes for this work from 3 different contractors, which were all recommended to me from reliable sources.
I chose Cook Bros. Construction, LLC, which was highly recommended. This company does a superb job in remodeling, which is more difficult than new construction. They also build custom homes.
My experience is as follows:
- They satisfactorily completed the total job in 2 months less than the insurance adjuster’s estimated completion time.
- There were many changes after the original contract, and the work and charges were more than fair.
- The owners of this company are very detailed with all of their work. We are perfectionists and found them to be equally the same.
- They saved us several thousand dollars with their innovative ideas.
In summary, Cook Brothers did an excellent job at a very good price with no budget or job completion problems. I am 100% satisfied and glad that we chose them to be our contractor.
I would very much appreciate them being added to the preferred contractors list for our residents in Riversound. These are honest guys. I was skeptical that I didn’t have to wait two weeks for my granite after cabinets were set but it is true. If they measure well and have a good working relationship with the granite co. it is possible. These are those kinds of guys. They had my kitchen pulled out and a new one placed in essentially two weeks. The painters took a week after that but I was able to cook and function in my kitchen. No horror stories if you get the right people. Going with a contractor also pays for itself. The percentage you pay will be found in discounts from retail pricing. John knows how to save a dime when picking materials.

We felt very comfortable with you from the beginning, having gotten such good references. People we spoke with told us about your good taste, good judgment, work ethic, attention to detail, integrity, and the spotless condition in which you left your jobs. Even the suppliers we spoke with during the project were obviously impressed with your work, volunteering the highest of praises without any prompting from us.
After you sat down with us about the changes we envisioned, we felt even better. Your practical experience and excellent technical expertise were obvious. The cost estimates left no surprises but were extremely accurate. The subcontractors you suggested did first class work, again demonstrating attention to detail and superior craftsmanship. We particularly liked the fact that you always returned our calls promptly; answering all of our questions and providing solutions to any problems. You were able to obtain substantial discounts from the vendors and surprised us by negotiating even further discounts on several occasions. You double-checked each subcontractor’s work identifying any problems. You kept us up to date on the budget as well.
Frankly, we have had absolutely no regrets about using you to do our remodel. We feel so very fortunate to have had such a pleasant experience. Ellen and I both love our remodeled home and have received many compliments from those who have seen your work.

When thinking about doing a bathroom remodel in my 60 year old house, tearing it out and starting over was the best option. I did most of the demo work myself. Cook Bros. Construction, LLC did the rebuild. They were always on time and did great work. We are very pleased with our bathroom. Some of the other options that we looked into would have cost twice as much and would have covered up structural problems. Cook Bros. found and fixed those problems. I have no doubt that they have saved me from lots of future problems. I highly recommend them!
